Our method has its heritage in the oldest and most effective of all the Martial Arts dating back to 900AD.

Filipino Martial Arts are practiced by millions of people worldwide today its popularity is due to its simplistic practical applications and its fascinating concepts and philosophy.

Our various syllabi will teach you the physical and mental aspects of combat, from learning to stand in strong stances up to the use of techniques to disarm an attacker.

With 70% of all attacks involving a weapon now couldn’t be a better time to study the Filipino Martial Arts.

Beckys Boot Camp (Fitness Classes)

This is the Kane Academies very own NO LYCRA fitness class. It is the newest addition to the Kane Academies range of courses and has already proved successful!. Get fit, tone up and be happy. Don't worry this is not a female only course it is mixed so men can come along and enjoy the training too.

Kane MMA Team

Students who train at our club may also join our mma team training classes after they have graded with our academy. Tournament training requires students to demonstrate the three pillars and set an example to other students through their dedication, loyalty, honesty and perseverance when things get hard! We are not an ugg ugg fight school combat is about skill, technique and positioning which takes a lot of effort and fine tuning. "I would rather have students fight technically well and lose on points in a tournament than someone who wins by a lucky shot and displays no class or style. Someone who is technically good will come back better and stronger to their next competition and Kane Academy has opened its doors to train students for the duration" Sifu Rebecca

Private and Semi Private Tuition

Our private and small group tuition classes are a must for anyone who wishes to take their training to the next level in the fastest possible time frame. They are fantastic for learning new skills in a more personal one on one environment. Small group tuition caters for groups of up to 10 people and is ideal if you feel a little uneasy about joining some of our larger classes.

Filipino Boxing

Filipino Boxing is similar to Western Boxing but uses elbows, headbutts and knees as well as foot stamps and some low line kicks. In some circles it is referred to as “dirty boxing” or “street boxing”. It is taught alongside Western Boxing using various influences Guro Rebecca has learned training closely with some of the finest Grand Masters of Filipino Martial arts around the world.

Hand speed, co ordination and reflexes are improved as is confidence.

Students are able to grade under Guro Rebecca in kombat curriculum or kickboxing curriculum as well as training to keep fit and learn self defence skills.

Grading is promoted to students training at the Academy as it is an excellent way to measure improvement over time and ensures that students put in an adequate amount of practice from week to week, month to month and year to year.

Grading in the filipino arts is different to other arts...its not just about learning singular moves and getting to a black belt within 3 years. In the Filipino Arts you learn to apply moves and combine them in and out of our basic drills for example Hubud which is an entry drill. You could study these basic drills for over 10 years and still keep learnning new things.

The beauty about Filipino Arts is "You never know everything, once starting you will study and keep learning for the rest of your life! it is a non static art unlike karate it doesn't stay still it evolves as an attacker doesn't stay still when attacking you. Huddersfield now has a full time Academy dedicated to introducing the Filipino Martial Arts to the general public" Guro Rebecca
