Course List / info

Our method has its heritage in the oldest and most effective of all the Martial Arts dating back to 900AD.

Filipino Martial Arts are practiced by millions of people worldwide today its popularity is due to its simplistic practical applications and its fascinating concepts and philosophy.

Our various syllabi will teach you the physical and mental aspects of combat, from learning to stand in strong stances up to the use of techniques to disarm an attacker.

With 70% of all attacks involving a weapon now couldn’t be a better time to study the Filipino Martial Arts.

Kombat

Kombat primarily focuses on empty hand filipino martial arts. You will get the unique opportunity to study all aspects Striking , Panantukan (filipino Boxing) , Dumog (grappling both stand up and floor) Sikaran (Filipino Kickboxing), mano vs baston (empty hand defences against various weapons)

Students are able to grade under Guro Rebecca in this art as well as training to keep fit and learn self defence skills.

Grading is promoted to students training at the Academy as it is an excellent way to measure improvement over time and ensures that students put in an adequate amount of practice from week to week, month to month and year to year.

In the Filipino Arts you learn to apply moves and combine them in and out of our basic drills for example Hubud which is an entry drill. You could study these basic drills for over 10 years and still keep learnning new things.

Even though Filipino Martial Arts is the backbone of what we do at the Kane Academy, it is possible you will also learn skills from some of the other styles Guro/Sifu and her instructors past and present have trained in. (Thai boxing, JKD, Karate, Kempo Ju Jitsu, Judo, Submission wrestling)

You can get fit and feel safer by knowing that you will be learning many different aspects of martial arts on this course ranging from empty hand to weapons, ground defence and fighting.
