REBECCA KANES MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
WITHOUT MEMBERSHIP LICENCE AND INSURANCE WE WILL NOT TEACH YOU MARTIAL ARTS!
These must be purchased after a maximum of 4 lessons/ 2 weeks.
Membership including Licence and insurance is not transferrable from gym to gym or style to style.
Remember, everyone training at the gym must abide by the General club rules
All shoes and ego’s are to be removed when reaching the top of the Academies stairs.
1. Bow on entering or leaving the training area.
2. Bow to instructors after demonstrations and to your training partners before and after any time spent together.
3. Only one voice is ever to be heard calling instruction in a Kane Academy lesson and that is of the Instructor leading the class. Above that may only be the Chief Instructors. (Rebecca Kane's)
4. Refrain from swearing in any lesson or part of the building as this shows a lack of self control.
5. Proper respect will be shown to everyone at all times (Instructor and Student).
6. If you cannot attend a class please try to let the club know via email/text in advance when possible.
7. If you are late please get wait at the gate of the dojo until the instructor allows you safe entry
8. Early departures from a class should be arranged with the Instructor beforehand unless an emergency is called.
9. If you are late for a private lesson your finishing time will be as originally planned and not extended due the lateness of the student.
10. All class training fees will be paid in advance without exception.
11. Nobody is permitted to wear uniform of other clubs / gyms at the Kane Academy. All uniform and equipment worn during lessons and sparring sessions must be purchased through the Kane Academy. By purchasing your membership Licence and Insurance through the Kane Academy you are agreeing to this rule.
12. No food or water shall be taken into the Dojo.
13. Any refusal to perform specific manoeuvres as asked by your instructor or differences in opinion in what we teach will not tolerated during a lesson. All the instructors have years of teaching experience and fight experience and do not deserve to be treated with ill respect. If you would like to discuss differences in opinion towards techniques please book a private session in which case we will more than happily debate.
14. It is not permitted for anyone other than the clubs management to use photographic equipment of any kind.**
15. If you have an injury prior to training you must inform the Instructor at the start of the lesson.
16. Always refrain from disrupting classes that are in motion.
17. Mobile phones must be turned off during lessons. Calls may be taken in the Academies foyer area situated downstairs by the changing facility and the Academies entrance.
18. Absolutely no member is permitted to organise outside instructors qualified or not to come to the Kane Academy and teach. All external influences are organised by the Chief Instructor only.
GYM AREA
Gym session fee gives you access to Grey Carpeted weights zone and Black Mats ONLY
1. Person's using the gym must be respectful of the Dojo's rules at all times. Shoes must be removed when using the kick bags.
2. There are two areas you may train on these are the grey carpeted weights area and the black matted area. When classes are not running gym users may use the grappling mats. The only thing you can't do is teach classes of your own or skip on these mats.
3. Though the gym area is a no tuition gym. Members may spot each other when using weights and bags.
4. We ask that if you use an item you put it away after so that others can use it after.
4. For safety and following our inemnity cover we can not allow you to spar outside lessons.
5. All persons must be gym members and have agreed to terms of usage of the gym. Gym member ID cards must be handed in at the reception desk along with correct fee.

EQUIPMENT
The club owns its own professional photographic equipment this is the only equipment that will be used unless prior consent is given in WRITING dated and signed by Rebecca Kane ONLY. Only photographs taken by Rebecca Kane or those employed by Rebecca Kane may be distributed via third party media outlets such as facebook, youtube etc.
Following proper martial arts respects and procedure allow all students to flourish and feel comfortable in a disciplined and safe environment. Failure to adhere to these simple rules will incur penalties, ranging from e.g. 50 press-ups to refusal of admission to all classes and cancelling of membership.
*Please note that the Kane Academy reserves the right to reword all policies and rules at any time if it is deemed necessary to make things easier and clearer for everyone involved.
